Begin your Getaway by checking in to the Bayside Inn just steps from Parry Sound’s inner harbour – gateway to the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve. Friday evening we’ll enjoy local favourites Georgian Bay Gin smash, Trestle Brewing Company beverages with a gourmet cheese selection and settle in for a social. Saturday morning starts with a wonderful breakfast by innkeeper Jeff Quathamer, followed by a gently paced kayak tour with White Squall. Using stable tandem kayaks, guides will teach you all you need to know to paddle along the shores of the Sound.

As you coast along, staff will talk about the area’s indigenous roots and the town’s early railroad and logging days. Enjoy a hearty shore lunch and take some time to sit and gaze, or dive into, the clear blue waters of the Bay. Next up, we head over to Jessica Vergeer Studios to have a go at painting what Tom Thompson made famous ~ the landscapes of Georgian Bay.

Sunday, after gourmet coffee and breakfast, we’ll meet at the Parry Sound Community Apiary to discover the secret life of bees and sample wildflower honey. On Sunday, you may also choose to add-on, for an additional fee, a Brewery Tour with lunch at Trestle and/or an optional bike rental and self-guided tour from Parry Sound Bikes. It will be a fun, fresh air escape!

Package Description

This exclusive package includes 2-nights’ accommodation at the Bayside Inn with breakfasts, an evening social with drinks & gourmet cheese tray, guided kayak tour & shore lunch, with fully equipped tandem kayaks, and safety gear, a two-hour painting session at Jessica Vergeer Studios, and one & a half hour hands-on, educational bee tour and honey tasting at the Parry Sound Community Apiary. Participants must be comfortable in the water and able to swim 50 metres wearing a lifejacket. Also, for those who wish, you may sign up for the Trestle Brewing Company tour and lunch, and/or the Parry Sound Bikes rental and self-guided tour for an additional fee.
